Where Calcium Nitrate 15.5-0-0 Is Used

Vegetative growth and topdressing

This is a straight nitrogen product. It drives canopy and tiller development rather than root establishment or grain fill, so it belongs in the part of the season where leaf area is what limits yield — cereal topdressing, pasture, forage and leafy vegetables.

Packing and Quantities

Calcium Nitrate 15.5-0-0 is supplied in the packing formats below. Tell us which suits your handling, storage and spreading setup and we will confirm availability and price for the quantity you need. Minimum order is 10–25 MT, depending on the product and the destination.

Packing formats

Format Net weight Typically used for
25 kg bag 25 kg Small holdings, trial quantities, hand or small spreader application
50 kg bag 50 kg Standard bagged supply for general farm and horticultural use
500 kg bulka bag (FIBC) 500 kg Loader or telehandler handling where a full tonne is too much
1,000 kg bulka bag (FIBC) 1 tonne The standard broadacre unit — one bag, one lift
Bulk By the tonne Tipped or augered into your bin or spreader; lowest cost per tonne

Container loading — 20ft FCL

The quantities below are what a standard 20-foot container holds in each packing format. Use them to work back from a container to a tonnage, or forward from your required tonnage to a shipment size.

Packing Loading method Units per 20ft Net weight
25 kg bags Floor loaded (loose stacked) 1,000 bags 25 MT
25 kg bags Palletised, 40 bags per pallet, shrink-wrapped 20 pallets / 800 bags 20 MT
50 kg bags Floor loaded (loose stacked) 500 bags 25 MT
50 kg bags Palletised, 20 bags per pallet, shrink-wrapped 20 pallets / 400 bags 20 MT
500 kg bulka bags Floor loaded, two tiers 40 – 50 bags 20 – 25 MT
1,000 kg bulka bags Floor loaded, single tier 20 – 25 bags 20 – 25 MT
Bulk Loaded into a container liner bag — 25 – 27 MT
Why 20ft and not 40ft? Fertiliser is a dense cargo. A 20-foot container reaches its weight limit at roughly 25–27 tonnes while still only part full, so the extra space in a 40-foot box cannot be used. Shipping in 20-foot containers is standard for this reason, and it is almost always the cheaper freight per tonne. A 20ft load also sits neatly at the upper end of our minimum order range.

Bagging and marking

  • Bags are woven polypropylene with an inner liner, heat-sealed and stitched, to keep moisture out during transit and storage.
  • Bulka bags are fitted with lifting loops and a discharge spout for loader handling.
  • Each bag is marked with the product name, the declared analysis, the net weight and the batch reference so it can be traced back to its Certificate of Analysis.
  • Palletised loads are shrink-wrapped and strapped. Loose-stacked loads are floor loaded directly into the container.
  • Customer-specified bag printing and private labelling can be quoted on request for larger volumes.

Delivery within Australia

Road freight Australia-wide — every state and territory, metropolitan, regional and remote. Bulk is delivered by tipper or bulk tanker; bagged and bulka-bagged product travels on flat-top or curtain-sided trailers. Tell us what you can unload with — loader, telehandler, forklift or tipping bay — because that determines which packing works at your end.

International shipping

We ship worldwide. Export consignments are quoted per container on the packing you nominate, and we will confirm documentation and destination-country import requirements before you commit. Give us the destination port or country, the tonnage and the packing format, and we will come back with a written quotation.

Handling and Storage

Store Calcium Nitrate 15.5-0-0 dry, off the ground and out of direct weather. Nitrogen and ammonium-based fertilisers are hygroscopic — they draw moisture from the air and will cake or set hard if left exposed. Keep bags closed until use, rotate stock, and do not stack beyond the height the packaging is rated for.

Request the Safety Data Sheet before handling. The SDS covers hazard classification, protective equipment, first aid and spill response, and must be accessible to everyone who handles, transports or stores this product. Ask for it with your enquiry and we will supply it. The technical data sheet below is product specification only — it is not a Safety Data Sheet.

A Certificate of Analysis for your delivered batch and the Safety Data Sheet are both available on request. The analysis in the data sheet is the nominal specification; where a Certificate of Analysis is issued for a batch, that certificate governs.
